MasterGuide Weekend 1

E-mail Print PDF

Hello boyz and girlz...

This weekend saw me (and a few of my fellow Pathfinder Leaders) travelling to Cannock in Staffordshire for a weekend of camping and fun in the cold. This was one of the six weekends this year that I'm gonna have to take where we travel to Cannock in Beasdesert Park for a bit of MasterGuide experience...

Friday was alright as we travelled and got there for 4.30pm. The aim was to get there at 3pm, but I think 4.30pm was a good time... as I soon realised later. Having travelled with Angeline, Lorreta and Pam, we got on to setting up our tents. The girls set theirs up quickly, but I had to wait for mine cause it was being specially delivered from Birmingham. So, I had to wait... and wait... lol...
7.30pm was the time I got my tent hand-delivered and I had to do the task of setting my tent in pitch darkness... Oh joy it was...
Being such a seasoned camper, it was a doddle and I was up and ready in no time.

During the night... OH MY DAYS!! I have never been  soooo cold. I went to bed with: 2 pairs of socks, a thick T-shirt, a jacket and another jacket, very thick gloves and a ninja woolie hat... and I still felt cold... My foot was freezing and it just made everything else cold. I blame myself really cause I had two sleeping bags but didnt have the energy to put on the other one... I could not wait for morning to come up.

So, sabbath morning was just cold for me...
However, the day was filled with blessings and loads of activities. That proper tired me out!
Fun times were cooking the breakfast using the gas stove and just having a great time.

Sunday was also good cause Saturday night... I proper warmed out...
Kitted out myself with 2 sleeping bags! 2 thick socks, 2 jackets, 2 trousers and anything else I could lay my hands on... I woke up feeling buzzing!!

By the time we left on Sunday afternoon, I was just shattered and could not wait to get into my bed and acquaint myself again!!!

But what a lovely weekend it was....

Police Chase

E-mail Print PDF

This evening, I was on my way home, coming from my cousin Rodwell's house when all of a sudden I was passed by this little red car (similar to small Ford Focus) travelling at an immensely high speed.

Soon after, a Police car came screeching past with its full glory shining all over the neighbourhood!

Oh man, this was like as if I was in the movies...

The red car turned right into a corner and two people jumped out and ran like their life depended on it. The Police car followed round the corner and found the car the in the middle of the street with both driver and passenger sides wide open. A Police can swiftly followed the squad car with its blazing lights as well - only to find the car empty - A MANHUNT was underway...

Not wanting to 'rubber-neck', I carried on with my driving.

Yards later, I spotted the two guys who had jumped out of the red car walking down the road as if nothing had happened. Immediately in front of them, the Police squad car appeared and then they two guys RAN!!!

Man!!! I soooo wanted to follow them and see how it finished, but my bed was calling me and I didnt want to get involved with the 5-0... But that was an exciting moment this evening and thought I'd share it with you...

PS: This is NOT the Police car in question, but just serves as an illustration.

Faith Comes By Hearing

E-mail Print PDF

Its been a really lazy weekend for me this week and bwoy, I dont know where my Sunday went. As you all know, Saturday is my Sabbath and I go to church and praise Him. This week was also Adventurer weekend as well, which meant I was teaching the young 6 to 9 year olds. O what a joy it is - seriously - I'm not being sarcastic! This week, I decided to do some drilling (marching) and watching the boys and girls do their 'LEFT' 'RIGHT' 'ABOUT-TURN' was just fantastic! There is a loads of work to do there, but they'll get there eventually.

Today - Sunday, I was also surfing on the net and I had seen in THE MESSENGER yesterday some links for some audio bibles and I thought I'd check it out. Bwoy, was I impressed. Found this site that contained over 300+ languages of the Bible. I dare you to go on the site and NOT find a language you are familiar with. Now, mind you some of the languages only contain the New Testament, so dont be too disheartened. I've kindly left a link for you below: (No google needed for this one, :-)

Tomorrow is another day and I look forward to another day in my 'new' job.
